The BMW M3 touring is an extremely fast, high-performance wagon from the high;y respected German manufacturer.
BMW has been perfecting cars for over a century, and their vehicles have existed in different body styles, from sports coupes to sedans to station wagons to SUVs. The company basically covers all aspects of motoring, from practicality to performance. However, the first state car ever built by BMW was in the year 1987, and since then, they have grown in every possible aspect. The first generation 3 series was created as an estate and also an M-powered vehicle, famously known as the M3. Over the past 35 years, the M division of BMW and the Estate vehicles have always been kept apart from each other until now. In 2022 BMW showcased the word of fusion of its M division and the estate part by launching the all-new BMW M3 touring. This insanely powerful Station Wagon was further tuned by the well-known German tuning company Manhart, and the vehicle now produces over 650 HP.
Manhart might be well known to few people as they belong to a specific set of tuners specializing in German cars. However, the company has over 35 years of experience tuning automobiles and extracting their maximum possible performance. The company initially started its journey from BMW, but now they have an expansive fleet of vehicles from multiple manufacturers, mostly German.
The company’s specialty is that they develop all their parts in-house, which can be fitted on most vehicles and even be ordered from their online store. At the heart of all the upgrades, which are technical and cosmetic, happens to be a significant factor which is the power-to-weight ratio, as the company makes immense use of carbon fiber to reduce weight. As a result, Manhart turns good cars into two special ones, and it has worked its magic on the BMW M3 Touring.
The stock vehicle is also extremely fast as it uses a 3-liter twin-turbo engine that produces 503 HP and 479 lb-ft of torque. This engine also does duty in the M3 and the M4. The vehicle is offered in just a single fully loaded train which is the M3 competition X drive, and as the nomenclature suggests, it is one of the most potent 3-liter engines by BMW, which makes use of an all-wheel drive system.
Manhart tuned this engine to generate over 650 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque which is a significant gain over the stock vehicle. To match the performance gains of the vehicle, it is also fitted with a new exhaust system that features valve control. Customers can also opt for special downpipes without the catalytic converters, which might not be legal in some countries.
The special treatment on the vehicle will also see some figures change as the stock vehicle can do the 0 to 60 mph run in 3.6 seconds, and it could go 174 mph flat out. In typical BMW fashion, this vehicle is expected to be a driver’s delight as it has an impressive 50-50 weight distribution along with specially tuned suspension and a rigid chassis Giving a good balance of agility and stability.
Now that the vehicle had the heart, it needed cosmetic enhancement to make itself stand out from the regular model. The company focuses on weight saving and power-to-weight ratio, so the M3 touring receives a carbon package consisting of a front splitter, a rear spoiler, and side skirts, which all add to the vehicle’s aerodynamics.
Along with functional aerodynamics, these changes also make the vehicle look a lot more mean and aggressive. The M3 touring also receives the signature Manhart colors, black, and gold, with a new decal kit knitted in gold. The wheels have also been given special attention as they are now Concave one wheels developed in-house by Manhart, and the matte finish makes them look stunning. The Matte black finish on the wheels is offered as standard but can be customized according to the buyer’s choice.
This particular Manhart-tuned vehicle is currently on sale in Germany and a few other European countries, which will be followed by the Asian and Australian markets, though there is no official news on this vehicle coming to the shores of North America.
